Portable monitor not turned on after plugged into USB C port on Vivobook S16

Hi, I just bought this laptop last week.

Today I found out it can't seem to power on an external portable monitor. The same monitor turns on immediately when I use the same USB C cable and plug into another Asus vivobook S (32 GB). Additionally, this laptop was able to power a self-powered monitor. I was wondering if anyone had similar trouble and how it was solved. I've tried:

• restart the laptop
• reset bios to "optimized default"
• update bios to the latest
• update all drivers to the latest using windows update
• Windows key + Ctrl + Shift + B to reset the display settings
• EC reset (holding power button for 40 seconds)
• Uninstall display adapter driver

none of these helped. It seems to me it's more of a power problem than a USB video signal problem since the laptop can drive a self-powered monitor. Did I accidentally turned off the power on my USB C ports?
