    HI all,
I edited the xorg.conf file saved it and then rebooted.
On the reboot it fails to boot properly and defaults to a command line. It tells me "xsetroot: unable to open display " 0.0""
Somehow I have lost my xorg.conf
I have a backup of the xorg.conf file but I don't know how to access it or rename it through command line to replace my xorg.conf.
Can anyone help me so I don't have to do a fresh install and lose all my data. I do not know any command line, so it would be great for an idiots guide(step by step).
    Many thanks

    Code:
    cd <directory-where-your-backup-xorg.conf-is-located>
    sudo cp xorg.conf.backup /etc/X11/xorg.conf

Just because a question has a simple answer doesn't mean that finding the answer is going to be simple. If a quick Google search doesn't turn up an answer, this forum is an excellent place to ask questions about Linux on your Aspire One.
