    Hi!

I have an ASUS wi-fi enabled notebook connected through regular cable ethernet modem and it has xp installed.

Is it possible to send a Wi-Fi signal to my ASPIRE ONE, so i can have internet on both computers without having to buy a wireless router?

Ive seen a thread about this in the forum but i guess it´s not exactly what im looking for...

If someone could give a nice step by step it would be great. Im a linux noob and im lost here....

    Thanks!

Thanks for the link, but i already knowed that page (was the first thing i tried).

I get an error when finalizing the process of making the ad-hoc network on the xp.

Maybe i need to update my wifi drivers...

    Hi!

Im at work now, but later i´ll do it again and copy-paste the error here. It was quite a big message, anda i remember that it told to see some kind of specific documentation on the microsoft site (that i never found...)

Thanks for your interest! Hopefully i won´t have to buy a wireless router!

I think that your error is that Windows cannot configure de Wireless Adapter or something like that. (Because you are using a third-party Wireless program or similar) The message says that you have to check 87112 of Microsoft Knowledge base. That can be found here: http://support.microsoft.com/KB/871122
