Update added - Linux Linpus Recovery DVD - ISO - use your favorite dvd buring problem to burn the image (use IDM to download it) (from German release multi-language)

New wifi xp driver added, also added a link to the msi page, reports its using the same hardware

Judging by the users who installed Ubuntu, the only thing that isn't built into the kernel is the Wifi, and there are links to the madwifi drivers in a couple of threads.

I haven't actually seen any reports of using the camera in Ubuntu... it's possible a video driver might be needed for that.

Hi KiNG,

I'm trying to download the Recovery DVD but I failed every time! Now trying it for the 5th time.
The Download stops at some time.

Is there some alternative Download Location?

don't use any download managers, it should work fine.

I can't download.

I tried:
  • - normal download with Firefox 3.0.1 (stops at about 50%)
    - download through the humyo java util (stops after about 10%)
    - Download Accelerator Plus (after some time says "File not found")
all of them several times. -> No success.

I wanted to install the Linpus version in a Vmware machine to play around and
change settings etc. Now I suppose I have to wait for my Aspire One to arrive
with its Recovery DVD.

try using IDM (internet download manager) seems to work ok, maybe your net is getting cut off ?
anyone else tried ?

Don't think its my inet. Have had no problems before.

The download worked with IDM. I think its more fail safe because it opens multiple streams of same file.

I've downloaded it, and it stopped a few times. I just resumed the download and it went well (using Opera, not sure how other browsers deal with download resuming). Could do a torrent if you want, I don't have my comp on 24/7 though.

I also had the same problem when trying to download the .iso image
Now I switched to InternetExporer, and just (re)started the file transfer....

btw, any bittorrent address for this file?

Hi Guys !


i´m was trying for 2 days and one whole night to get every driver, but i lacked the audio-driver.
Humyo is known for beeing not the best host, and killing your downloads seconds before you finish.
And without a resume, it´s hell ;)


So i packed everything together in one small zip, the audio-drivers are from the msi wind.
And i uploaded it just now on rapidshare. So have fun with it, guys. Happy DLing, and thx King for the
hard work to getting the drivers together. :)

most everything in vista works out of the box except for the gpu and wifi drivers

hi, guys, i have installed xp on my aspire one, and the driver i have download from this site is working perfectly.
only one things, when i change the screen brightness, there is not showing anything on the screen. does anyone has the driver for the hot keys?

sorry for my english, hope you can understand it. :P
