    i've tested it with:
    1080p MP4
    720p MKV

    i've downloaded for testing:
    1080p MKV from Divx directly

i do have a small army of xvid/divx files, but i haven't tried any of them...

wait, i lied.... i did try one, and it was silky smooth....but i do not remember the specs of the file.
i'll test a few tonight if you want.

    update... look at these:

or item 390078258991 @ $29.99 if you only need one.

Someone said that the only mini-PCIe socket that is fully functional is the one the wifi card comes in. I assume this isn't USB based so did you just put this in the spare slot (asking ashram this) and get it working ?

AFAIR, that is only true for the AAO A series (8.9" screens). On the AAO D series (10.1" screens) both mini-PCIE sockets should be fully functional.

YUP! originally i was going to add a 3g card (had jerryt add the sim reader) and then after bios 1.07 was installed, i noticed the system detect the second mini pci-e slot and well, tried a wifi card and it worked. well, i have blu ray and hd dvd usb drives (not including the xbox 360 hd dvd drive) so the bcm70010 seems like something to try, and i love it. i can teather internet access through my phone, so it's not a loss for me!

i'm considering the bcm70010 for my wife's d250 as well.

the 2nd slot on the d250 can be used for pci-e or usb (taping pin 20)

So if the BCM70012 dont improve "Normal" Divx or Xvid i wont bother with it then.

you can use the usb off the Main pcie to my bluetooth is off that one.
and my 128GB USB 2.0 Flash Drive is off the second pcie usb.
    and stll use the slots.

and i have a 4 port usb hub off the Usb that was for the bluetooth.
the hub is for More flash drives built in .
sofar im up to 3 128gb flash drives and 1 256gb flash drive i have 1 more port to go. lol

Will the BCM70012 help with streaming HD/high quality videos from sites like YouTube and Hulu, or does it only work with saved files?

Only if you have software which allows you to select a video decoder for the stream. Maybe SageTV.
