I am looking for a SD card for expansion on AA1 Linux, as I am not familiar with SD card, I would like suggestions on which one to buy! I would like it to be 16G or 32G, and not too slow(I am afraid slow one will slow down the overall performance!)

    Thanks! :D

Sandisk Extreme III 30mb/s Edition is about as fast as SDHC cards get at the moment. Very expensive though.

Just picked up a 16 GB SDHC Adata turbo class 6 card from Newegg.com for $25 shipped. Works flawlessly. That works out to $1.56 per GB. Get 'em before they run out!

How do these cards' speeds compare to the One's HDD speed? I don't know anything about hardware really.
If they're faster then it'd be cool, if possible, to tell Windows to use that for Video, virtual, temp memory and whatnot.

    Hi all

    Just a quick question...
I read on one website the maximum sd memory the aa1 can take is 8gb, is this not correct?? And while im posting has anyone had any experience with play.com own-brand sdhc cards or know if they work on the aa1 ok? Coz they have a 16gb sdhc class4 for £17 whish seems pretty good?

    Hi malstead

I have a Transcend 16GB SDHC card and it works just great.

Try http://www.7dayshop.com they have it at £17.99 with free delivery. The cheapest I could find for this card.

    Best wishes

I used to have a Transcend 8gb. It was faulty and the contents of folders kept disappearing from them! I now have a 16gb Kingston and a 8gb Sandisk and they are fine. :p

These SD card are very slow compared to One's HDD speed.

According to the rated speeds of both standard class6 sd card and the AAO's HDD, the HDD is almost 12-13x faster than the "fastest" standard sd card.

That was the impression I was getting. So using these cards is really something for those with an SSD model that want a little more room on the cheap?
