I know how to do this in Ubuntu, and been searching the directories and can't find it on the Aspire. I want to make the panel disappear completely when hidden, instead of sticking out even when hidden. And taking too long to unhide/hide.

    Thanks,
    Bob

    Why not run Ubuntu?

Take a look at the custom desktop thread or search the forum.
There are about three threads that discuss panel removal.

Be warned, I said that before the last 15+ installations / new OS loads / recoveries :)

In fact it is so addictive that I may buy a second One for "evaluation".

"I'll just spend another hour on this tonight".
    Then you notice it's dawn.

The funny thing is, I got the Aspire just for simple email and internet while travelling, but I really like the silly little thing and enjoy using it here at home too.

I bought a One for my girlfriend five days ago and since then, I've been tweaking/modifying it and many nights have past since then... and I notice that my girfriend is starting to feel bored... or maybe... jealous?

I would like to know the panels option also.
It seems Acer did a lot of fiddling with the "Linpus Lite One" before it's release. I am feeling very, very tempted to install ubuntu just for cheking it out...

Panels - take a look at this thread.

    viewtopic.php?f=17&t=111

It talks about the connect area, but you will get the general idea.
