What I don't get is why buy an underpowered 11.6" netbook, when you could buy a 12" notebook for a little bit more?

I tend to agree that an under-powered large screen device is of little extra value.
What we need is the new Atom processor or a a low powered dual-core cpu and/or some extra screen resolution on a 9" screen i.e. move the max resolution to 1280x1024 (max) or 1024x768 (min).

I have a nice !2" tablet with a dual core CPU. I got the 10.1 (upgraded from 8.9) because I wanted something small, portable, and a little less power hungry than the AMD cpu that I have. An 11" atom machine does not appeal to me because it will be too similar in size to my other machine with significantly less power. I will stick with my 10.1 with 2GB and 500GB HDD.
