I own a 2011 Toshiba Satellite laptop. And recently it's started to run slower and the fan runs in over drive. Then today the screen wont come on just the laptop turns on, So what do I do? Any ideas on how to correct this so I can go back to using my gaming and school computer. And yes I've cleaned my fan on the laptop.

When you turn it on and the Toshiba logo shows, keep pressing F8 several times on the keyboard, and a Windows Advanced Options screen menu should come up.

Select safe mode in the Windows Advanced Options screen.

When IN THE SAVE MODE press the start button, and type RESTORE, then choose a previous restore point.

the motherboard settings have a look if it lists the hard drive
if it does not then you have a broken hard drive.

Okay I will definitely try this. Cross your fingers for me, Lord knows I would love to use my Toshiba again. Right now i'm using a Acer windows 10 and it's okay but it doesn't have anything on my baby Toshiba.
