So far I have tested standard printing of text documents and jpg camera images opened with firefox:
HP 1022 - it works fine.
Canon ip90v - it works fine.

I will be testing a Canon 9500 later this week.

Anyone got an idea how to get gthumbs to fit on the screen correctly?

Printed last night to my HP Laserjet 2300 with no problem. Printer is connected to my iMac and shared over wifi. Easy easy easy.

I'll try to test my all in one later tonight.

If we're going to list every printer supported by linux and XP this could be an extremely long thread. Suffice it to say that both operating systems support a majority of printers.

So the title should be "what esoteric printer do you have that works on the One"
    :D

I plugged my printer in to my one and it did not work, do I need to install something? Wish everything wasn't so complicated. Tried to install FF3 and I get all sorts of errors.. I am just going to leave it alone. I would like to be able to print though.

Well that depends on the printer. Most Linux distributions ship with lots of printer drivers pre-installed, but if the printer depends on firmware being uploaded to the printer when it's connected (some HP printers), then you need to install the firmware to the hard drive first. This is no different to Windows, which would require you run the the install CD first to copy over the firmware (& driver).

I'm not sure if this is the right thread for support with setting up the printer, but lets start by naming the printer?

Lexmark printers are a real pain since the company refuses to release drivers or cooperate with the production of drivers for Linux for models except their z-series. (Send complaints to Lexmark International Inc., 740 New Circle Road NW, Lexington, KY 40550)

It might work as a network printer connected to a Windows machine, but chances of it working directly connected to a linux One are slim, at least for now. Sorry!

Mine worked with the Brother MFC-665CW. had to download the drivers from Brother
    mfc665cwlpr-1.0.1-1.i386.rpm
    mfc665cwcupswrapper-1.0.1-1.i386.rpm
    and then install them.
    Code:
    sudo rpm -ihv --nodeps mfc665cwlpr-1.0.1-1.i386.rpm
    sudo rpm -ihv --nodeps mfc665cwcupswrapper-1.0.1-1.i386.rpm

Since I use it over network, had to update cups to get LPD to work.
    Code:
    sudo yum update cups
and then change my printer settings
    Device URI: lpd://192.168.1.20/binary_p1
replacing the IP address with that of your printer.

I think the question is ¿What printers work with linpus? The Aspire is like any PC. Depends of the OS

Still waiting on delivery of my One, but I fully expect my HP LaserJet 1018 to work, as well as my old A3 Epson Stylus PhotoEx since both work with my existing linux systems. Not that I'll be attaching them direct to the One which seems silly, instead they'll remain as network printers available to all machines.

Actually it depends on drivers from manufacturers or open source folk. :)

 Linux (Linpus) version works well with Canon iP4500.

Download the two appropriate RPM files from the Canon website and then double click on the one with 'common' in the name. The system will ask if you want to install and ask for your password. When thats finished do the same with the second RPM file. You can then go to printing, plug the printer in and set up the Canon.

Unfortunately if you want to change paper size/type of paper/feed you have to do it via the printing set up in preferences, the Linpus applications don't seem able to do it directly.

Now I need to find out how to install ms true type fonts so docs look and print the same on the aspire one as well as my main computer :!:
