What does 802.11b Preamble mean?

    Hi guys,

I bought an Aspire One (zg5) last week, and I had the guy install Win XP on it for me.

Like most ppl, the Wifi has been a bit of hell (yet can work fine on some networks).

Now, I know the card is an Atheros 5007EG, and on the Box it says it is "802.11b/g compatible"

But when I right click the properties, it says it is "802.11b Preamble".

Does this mean I can't use it on G type routers?

So far I have found it has detected some routers, and not others. Right now it is not detecting a D-LINK (g type) router.

    Any ideas?

Edit: Just noticed my bios is a very old 3103 ! I have just flashed it to 3309, hope this helps.
