webcam got problem!

i am using aa1 with linpus. when i click on the web cam software in the fun section, the screen will go to black, I can only shut it down by pressing the power button. But sometimes, it works?! sometimes, it fails! what is wrong? I have installed DosBox and Picasa, others are downloaded from acer. will updating the bios help? is this hardware problem or just software problem? can anyone help me please? Thank you!
