Want to buy a new laptop with HD compatible with Satellite p50-C-18K

Hello. On startup my screen has started flickering with red lines climbing upwards. (I don't know the technical term for this.) I understand the screen cable will be rubbing up against a hinge and will eventually be severed. I can get this fixed, of course. But in the meantime I want to buy a new Toshiba. To buy a completely different model and transfer everything across would take far too much time. What I would like to do is to copy my HD as is (using Acronis), then install that HD onto a new Toshiba. I appreciate that this will raise compatibility issues but, obviously, it would transfer perfectly into a brand new Toshiba of the exact same model. The question is: which other models would also be compatible with my HD?
