I can't see this post previously, apologies if I've missed it.
I'm running with the Linux Linpus software and asked Acer's helpdesk what anti-virus they'd recommend.
They said that virus infection was unlikely on Linux. Is that correct? Or is there something out there someone would recommend that is easy to install?
    Appreciate any help!

Linux has a very small market share compared to that of microsoft, thus there have not been any widespread virus attacks targeting linux. Anti-virus software is not necessary if you're running linpus.

If you really want to install AV software, you can install ClamAV (which is free and open source). You can also get AVG in .rpm format (or at least you could last time I checked), which should install on the AA1.

As the previous poster said, though, it's not really necessary. Aside from low market share making it difficult for Linux viruses to propagate, the virus would need to be run by you to get into the system from your user space.
