Upgrade from 8.04 to 8.10?

    Guys\Gals,

    Has anyone ran a dist upgrade from kubuntu 8.04 to 8.10? Is this safe to do? My 8.04 is working perfectly but I think I'd like to upgrade, but I don't want to run into any major issues so i thought i'd ask first.

    If you do this you lose decent 3D performance. Most users find that Compiz still works well, but things like 3D games take a major hit. This is also true of 9.01 by the way.
