Hey guys, so I was using my aspire one and umm... Something unexpectedly happened. My battery suddenly had a loud "SNAP". And the battery casing came apart (not fully, just partially). Did anyone have the same issue? What do I have to say to acer?

I would tell Acer exactly what you said here and they should fix it.Does your AA1 still work?

Was it the 6 cell battery ? And if so, was that 6 cell battery delivered with the AAO ? If not delivered with the AAO, and not purchased from Acer, then you probably won't get any help from Acer.

There's a lot of cheap third party batteries coming out from China and Hongkong. Some of them are OK, but a lot of them are either using sub-par cells, or minimal control-logic on the electronics in the smart battery. If it was one of those batteries, then the Acer warranty on the AAO is void, since the damage would come from the third party battery.

If it on the other hand was an Acer supplied battery, I'm pretty sure that Acer will honor a warranty and want to investigate. Exploding batteries tend to cut heavily into both company reputation and economic bottom line, which both IBM (Lenovo) and Dell found out a couple of years ago.

thanks for the response guys, it's weird though, no smoke, no nothing, the casing cracked for no reason while I was using it :p
I'll phone acer tomorrow and see what they'll have to say about this issue.
