I am trying to install Ubuntu 8.04 Hardy Heron on an Acer Aspire One netbook. The model of the netbook AOA150 Bb. I tried the installation from a CD using an external CD/DVD drive and after booting up from the CD I entered English in the language choice menu and then selected “Install Ubuntu”. After a few minutes the following message appeared:

    udevd_event [1434]: run_program:/sbin/modprobe' abnormal exit
    Busybox v1.1.3 (Debian 1:1.1.5-5ubuntu12)
    Built-in shell (ash)
Enter 'help' for a list of built-in commands
    (initramfs)-

Nothing happened after that. Can anyone suggest what to do next?

Hi there. You might wanna check the md5sum of the downloaded file. Could be that you have an incomplete downloaded file (or corrupted in some way).
