Ubuntu 9.10 on ZG5 AOA110 - mic not working. driver?

    Just installed Ubuntu 9.10 and installed updates.

    Skype not recording audio through screen mic or mic port. Checked Sounds, found input on mute. clicked it off. Worked for 5 seconds. Mic has previously worked with skype+Acer linux build (Fedora?) but no longer.

    Have searched in this forum and found various suggestions that there may be no fix, or it could be hardware.

    Anyone else experience this and find a fix.
