Trouble Using Bluetooth with my Inspiron 15 5000 series?

    I really need to be able to connect my Inspiron 15 5000 series laptop with my LG Android smartphone via Bluetooth to be able to share files back and forth easier. For some reason, I can never get it to work. I have been trying since last Christmas when I got the laptop. I have connected my phone and a tablet with Bluetooth successfully, but for some reason it just does not work with my laptop. Could someone tell me what I may be doing wrong? Thanks!
