tried to install firefox, and now ive got no desktop

not sure if this is the right section, if not, could the mods please move to the correct section.

basically i followed a blog entry for installing firefox3.0 on to my new aao. after this, the browser wouldn't open, so i thought, i would use the software removal tool to remove firefox, re-add it then re-boot, done this and now i have no desktop icons of any kind, just a black screen, can see the search bar and info bar at the bottom of the page, but thats it.

when i click on the home icon in the start tray i get this message
"Could not run command: xfdesktop2 --gohome:
Failed to execute child process "xfdesktop2" (No such file or directory)"

what have i done, and more to the point, how do i sort it!

its a linpus lite 512mb 8gb ssd unit

any help/ideas appreciated

oh and i cant open a terminal window either.

and im really new to linux os

EDIT: SORTED. took it back to shop i got it from, kicked up hell, and got a new one! winner
