Just in last October, I bought a Microsoft Surface Pro 4. Before it, I was using a Dell Vostro 1500 with a dedicated graphics card. Although the Vostro was quick and powerful, it was thick and heavy. With its 9-cell batteries, the total weight I had to carry was 8 pounds!

Now with this Surface Pro 4, it makes me feel like day and night difference. So thin, so light. Although it is actually not much more powerful than the 7-year-old Vostro 1500 I had in gaming (I did some 3dmark tests and concluded there is only a less than 25~30% boost in gaming).

Aside the physical weight and size difference, now I got touch screen, ultra high resolution, and I can detach the keyboard and hold the screen as a full tablet when I feel like it. I can sit on the couch or bed watching some movies or playing some tablet games on it. Basically the one device could replace a traditional laptop and a tablet, since it has the full functions of both!

From what I heard, after the introduction of Surface, there are more PC manufacturers going the router of 2-in-1 and detachable keyboard.

Do you guys think traditional laptop will be going down hill in the face of these 2-in-1 laptops?

The 2-in-1 laptop looks awesome and very fitting this fast changing world. It made you feel like you're with it, and cool. At least, I thought so and I wouldn't mind to have one.

I am still a traditional user, and I like the use of my keyboard. I think if I want to have a tablet, I will have a tablet. I also don't like the touch screen unless there is a screen protector on it! I don't like to have finger prints screen, LOL.

I was about to buy a refurbished 2 in one laptop before buying this one, but in the end I didn't. I think it would be nice to have a laptop that can be used as a tablet as well, I don't see myself getting a new laptop anytime soon though, we already have 6 computers at home!

Actually in the case of Surface Pro 4, the keyboard is full size, and it is detachable. It is the true device of two in one. When the keyboard is attached, it looks and works like a full laptop. When you just want to use a tablet, remove the keyboard and take the screen with you. :)

As for fingerprints, it isn't so bad. As the matter of fact, I just checked the screen for fingerprints before I started typing this message lol. There is nothing noticeable on the screen. Besides, when you use a tablet you'd still use your fingers.

By the way, I like touch screen. Even though I started to use it quite late. Once you get used to touch screen, you will feel all non-touchable screens are weird. When I was fixing something for my mom's laptop, I touched the screen multiple times before I realize that ... silly me.

The keyboard for Surface Pro 4 has a trackpad, and I also bought a bluetooth mouse for it. So you see, it is truly a multi-device.
