I've seen a few posts around re touch screen mods.

Apart from cracking open your AA1 and needing soldering skills I have to ask if it's worth it.

I actually like the idea of a touch screen - but since you can't lay the screen flat or write on it etc what other possible use could it be?

Has anyone actually done this and found it useful?

Yes. It is worth it. Everyday I'm working with Tablets and PDAs with touchscreen. This is amazing experience when you can select every option using your finger or stylus. Much faster then touch pad or mouse and does not need as much space as mouse operating... For me there is no better mod then touchscreen - I did not mod mine yet but I have TS kit awaiting installation :)

I still don't see the value in spending 40 quid just to use your finger.

To be honest I would see it being more useful if you could lay the screen flat and write.

I am also looking to build in my icon 225 3g card, where are the best guides to connecting to an internal USB?

You do not have to see any reasons ;) For me it's just great improvement. It's the same like mod with 3G done by "tnkgrl" - probably I'll spend another £150 for just a modem... AA1 has a great potential - it's logical to use it...

Look at this by the way: viewtopic.php?f=43&t=5974 if you need 3G mod for your AA1.
