Hi, I just upgraded ram and wifi card... but when I remove the black ribbon cable tab it popped off. I am having a hard time figuring out how to reconnect it.

Has anyone else had this problem and can you share any advice on getting it back on properly?

    Thanks,

    Joe

the tab is a hinge, not the ones you pull and it releases the cable.
if you can't put it back, I recommend you put some tape and tape it down secure, that might help :), it certainly helped my DVD drive when I was hackin' it.

hi, i managed to get it secured.. i think/hope.

i think the problem was the ribbon has to fit in the channel perfectly before i could fit the tab back. After a half hour of tinkering i didn't want to test the hinge. Maybe I'll get some tape and secure it for good measure.

The ribbon goes the "natural" way, it is straight.

Most likely you just need to be more careful in making sit well and clamp down. Perhaps you got it dirty?

There is nothing magic here, just very small/tight connections to be made.
