hardwired? no, it is connected by a zif cable.
a 2,5 hdd won't fit, but a 1,8 hdd (PATA) that has only about 5mm height will do when you remove some plastic inside the AAO

    - yes, hardwired - that means is connected via cable not f.e. Wi-Fi...

    - it will fit. Look at the link to posts on this forum I provided. There are posts with photos...

LOL - show me a wifi connected HDD inside a Notebook. It is clear that his question meant connected by cable or soldered.

I would never recommend that. the 2,5 HDD will be under pressure because the of the space inside the A110. I don't think thats good for the HDD life time.
I opened my A110 and tryed to put a 2,5 hdd in, Acer did not change the case for the A150 without reason.

That's why in my previous post I said : "Not easy but YES :)" People are doing this kind of mod but you are right mentioning about pressure on HDD/mobo...

I gots a 100GB 1.8" for sale =) if you ever want one its in the For sale Section.
You will need to shave of the 2 knobs and one L Shape and sand down the Original Zif to fit the HD.
I am using the same on in mines. Fast Less heat Sound is minimal. =)

What needs to be removed to fit a Toshiba 100GB 1.8" Snug

Even though this is a 1.8" HD Look at spacing left.
