Soundmax audio driver issue

Hello to you all, i hope you may be able to help me, i have a 1545 running windows 10 64 bit and for the life of me i cannot get Soundmax drivers to work on my laptop, i have searched Dell's driver updates and it updated my audio to IDT's HD audio, but when i try to install the Soundmax driver it says my hardware is not supported, am i right in thinking that in order to install Soundmax i need a soundmax chip already installed on my motherboard? i am tearing my hair out over this as i cannot figure out where i'm going wrong, i've tryed everything i know. Any help would be really appreciated. Thanks.
