Anyone else have a slowshutdown issue with win7. like a 3 minute shutdown.
If i do Start>run> "shutdown /p" it goes off in about 15 seconds.
Also tranferring files over the network from another windows 7 machine gives BSOD on the AAO.

I think WInodws 7 has something like ewf or fbwf built in for ssds and at shutdown it writes everything
until now i have not any proof for this therorie, but the system runs very well, i think better then windows xp becuase win7 doesn't hang, only firefox has a slow performance and the windows media player has a poor performance

I have the same experience. It seems that Win7 spends alot of time on the SSD during shutdown. Have now idea what however.... Mine boots in 1min, but shutdown takes more or less the same time. Has anybody have an idea what's goin on?

BTW firefox 3.1 beta3 is way better on windows 7 than 3.0 . Give it a try. ;)

That was the main reason I stopped using Windows 7. I am curious as to wtf it is doing that takes so long.

I'm curious if this is an AAO SSD only problem. My Win7 install takes about a min to shutdown.... I still cannot pinpoint the problem. I've seen EEE users complain about this as well, so it's not just the AAO that is affected so it seems.

On my full size laptop Windows 7 shuts down in about 20 seconds. It has to do with the slow write speed of our SSD. Though I don't know what it needs to write at shutdown that is so important.

I think theres more to it. I tested Win7 on an older desktop I have laying around. It's an Athlon 64 2ghz w/ 512mb DDR400 80gb drive Nvidia 6600GT. Shutdown is in the area of almost 1min as well. Since this is not SSD, and I think still is faster than our ATOM AAO. Win7 just does this on certain systems. I've read around in other forums, and this happens on an MSI Wind and on the Asus EEE 900 as well. What gives? :?:
