Hi all
I tried to upgrade my win10 to win11 but my laptop doesn't meet win11 system requirements.

Processor isn't currently supported. It's i3-3120M CPU @ 2.50ghz

PC doesn't support secure boot
TPM 2.0 must be supported and enabled on this PC
So can I simply swap the mother board (assuming it's compatible and fits ) ?
Or do I need to do other things.
Any help or advise will be greatly appreciated and thanks in advance

Hi!

Unfortunately it's not possible to just swap the motherboard on a laptop. Every laptop motherboard is made for specific model from specific year. The current processor in your laptop is 3rd gen Ivy Bridge made in 2013. In order to install Windows 11, you will need at least 8 gen Intel (or AMD counterpart) processor and TPM 2.0.

Hi,

Swapping the motherboard will not work even if you find one that's compatible with your laptop and meets Windows 11 requirements. I think it's often more practical to upgrade to a new laptop that supports Windows 11 out of the box.

Upgrading your laptop to support Windows 11 would require more than just swapping the motherboard. You’d need a motherboard compatible with your processor, RAM, and other components, and it must support Secure Boot and TPM 2.0. Additionally, your processor itself is not supported by Windows 11, so you might need to upgrade that as well. It might be more practical and cost-effective to consider a new laptop that meets Windows 11 requirements.
