You're trying to figure it out even though you don't have a One yet?

Easiest way I have found is to use the Kalyway 10.5.2 DVD. I've only tried a few attempts. Surprisingly or not, a previous setup on an external drive setup for OSX on a Dell D600 laptop ~works straight on connect with the One.

If you are testing and don't want to mess up the internal drive for installing, use an external USB drive.
Follow the instructions for Kalyway but choose Speedstep with sleep support. It takes about 1-1.5 hours to complete the install.

During first boot, you can skip registration by cmd-Q (alt-Q IIRC).
works: USB, ethernet, webcam (but mirror image)
not working: wireless, sound, mike, 1024x600

This setup takes up about 6-7GB.

i used the iatkos v4 iso image. installed with no issues, boot time on the 120GB HDD is pretty quick.
the webcam worked with no hacks, but need lan, audio, wifi and graphics need looking into.
