I want to run my Aspire under Linux instead of Windows as purchased, but whenever I boot from a Linux disk I get a 'Loading.....' message, then a blank screen, and the PC hangs. I have to remove the battery to shut it off. I have tried Linpus, Puppy and Ubuntu disks and they all behave similarly. What should I be doing?

I had similar trouble when attempting to install from a USB CD-ROM. No such problems when installing from a stick though.
