Mate's daughter's notepad not connecting wirelessly.
    Runs on Aspire one.
It was working fine. Turning on the wifi button opened an icon on toolsbar.
Now. No connection. wifi on. Opens and closes icon. No connection.

    I have a usb2.0 card reader with a 4GB card.
Could I use this with aspire one?
Could I download a reinstallation disk?

    All advice gratefully received,

I have been messing around with 'dos for a while and feel that I should be able to get the notepad working.

Sorry but I don't understand your problem. What are you referring to as notepad?

Sorry I'm being a little misleading.
The Acer ZG5 opens with the Asire one linux system.
The problem lies in the Acer not connecting wirelessly.
It did work. Now it doesn't connect.
Three other pcs are connected through the router.
My aim was to reinstall the OS and hopefully the network will once again work.

What is the best linux system for the Acer ZG5?

    Many thanks,
    sjc.

IMO the easiest to install and run with the least modifications or tweaks is Mandriva 2009.1 Spring Gnome I have it running on my AA1 ZG5 and the wireless works fine and after several system updates nothing has ever been broken by the updates. The boot time is not as quick as Linpus and the sleep/suspend/hibernate functions are not very reliable.

    That depends on who you ask and what you want. For many, Linpus is actually the answer. My first choice is Fedora. On the other hand, Ubuntu appears to be the most popular Linpus replacement;
