    Hey Guys,

On another thread I got recommended a Dell XPS 15 Touch and someone linked to several Ebay sellers who were selling "manufacturer refurbished" models for incredibly cheap. I'd long been interested in the XPS Touch but it was too far out of my price range ($2300). Several of these ebay stores are offering it for $1500 or $1600; way below it's original price. I'm trying to figure out if this is a scam or not.

Here are three of the sellers offering this item for super cheap:

    usa_computer_surplus on eBay
    the.laptop.shop on eBay
    taxfreetech on eBay
    j_j-electronics on eBay

I've asked all of them for documentation to show that they're selling authorized refurbished models but most simply reply the they've bought these from Dell and the warranty is transferable (as well as explaining that these are models that were returned by a user within the initial period and then refurbed).

I tried calling Dell and their refurb team but they said they couldn't confirm or deny if someone was authorized to be a refurb seller.

Any thoughts on this? These are some amazing deals on a laptop I REALLY want but, of course, I don't want to be conned. In all cases their user ratings are super high.

Here are some of the responses I've received from the sellers:

    Dear davidbeier,

Me and my business partner buy all of our machines directly from Dell. We've been in business for about three years now and work out of our homes.

Dell's certified refurbished products are usually returns on unused material that was part of a large order that the original customer did not need anymore. They are inspected and prepared for sale again to guys like me.

They come with the EXACT same warranty as if the product was new.

As you can see from my feedback and from this listing I've sold 20ish systems and haven't had a complaint yet!

We were planning on selling these for about 1699 at first but then ran into some stiff competition here on eBay from some other sellers and it drove the price down dramatically. We have about 6-9 of these left on last count. Let me know if you need any other information. Thanks!

    Respectfully

Check to see if the computer is factory refurbished. If the it is factory refurbished then go for it and enjoy the products. Such products work as if they are new. That is what am using at the moment.
