record earphone levels through the mic socket?

    I'm trying to record the output from a walkman on the A110, and without using an external USB audio kit,
    well, the mic jack is the only bare metal way in.

    Now this could be dangerous, as the earphone output is high level and the mic input is for low levels.

    On top of this, it's also possible that the recording quality would be quite bad (bad as in nasty, not wicked :)).

    Anybody any thoughts?
