OK, thanks. This report shows not so good write performance with 64 KB samples: 10 MB/s (also the original SSD was 10 MB/s) your previous report was 30 MB/s (the same with 128 KB samples)

With 256-1024 samples: 17 MB/s CF, 10 MB/s SSD.


What's happened?

Your named program is design for HDD ( sector test ) , is not for SSD ( block test ) , for that , you must start form 64K , then get closed result.

 

I've added new pictures showing what is a regular SATA connector i believe.

This is good news , just removed 80GB hard disk , and direct replace 2.5 inch SDD (Transcend 64GB MLC SDD, read 119MB/s write 43MB/s ) cost $299

Do anyone can tell me what I am doing wrong
follow the picture can use A data 266x 4F CF (perfect)
but when install transcend 8G 300x after install windows , can't boot with a error message disk error
use SanDisk Extreme III 16 G BIOS can't detect,
Ridata 16G 233x also get disk error after install windows XP (SP2)

So anyone can give me some advise pls!!

 

How long your Zif cable??
Are you add filter on it (a black one come with AO Zif cable)?

Ok this is where i'm at....

I bought a 1GB memory stick and a 16GB SDHC and upgraded my AA1, I also ordered 2 x Zif to CF adaptors of which only one as turned up and the supplied cables are not the flipside type so this morning I ordered the correct cable with the eBay Link supplied earlier in this thread, I've also ordered a Transcend 16GB 300X Compact Flash card.

I tried Linux for the past 2 weeks and to be honest for a number of reasons I prefer Windows hence I'm going to do this Mod, Fingers crossed it all turns out ok as i don't believe a 16GB CF card as been tried yet!

If this doesn't work i'm going to sell the lot as I don't care for Linux and the SSD is not suitable for Windows and the whole point of a mobile PC for me is rugged, no moving parts so a hard drive is out of the question. My total spend on the Acer one so far is around £450. :shock:

 

These Buffalo drives are PCIe SSD's will not work in the ONE

Is it possible to test if it's all working with standard ZIF or do I have to wait for the flipside?

What did you use to cut everything?

you dont need to wait for the flipside cable, you can make your own. Take the standard cable and bend one of the ends.

=====------------------------------------------=====/ <---- bend so theres contact both sides, enough for it to lock in. might have to hammer the side so its perfectly flat to fit in. dont break the traces tho.

install all of those and see if you get any unknowns.

people that got the zif-cf working can you try doing windows update and tell me if it goes thru... mine keeps saying some issue about not having admin, even if i reformat reinstall. thanks
