Problem With Keyboard

Hi, I’ve been given an HP laptop. I don’t know it’s age nor serial number as it’s unreadable. Unfortunately some of the keys I am inputting are not coming out with the right letter.
E.g: if I press e I get qe or vice versa,
if I press c I get zc or vice versa
If I press a I get ad or vice versa
The same with the upper case of these letters. these are the only letter keys that are doing this and the only number key doing this is: if I press 3 I get 13. It did start working properly for a while, but after a short time it was doing the same thing. Does anyone have any advice on what this might be? Thank you.
