    Hello,
I am running 8gb Aspire one with winxp running and I am trying to install linux for the first time. Yesterday I downloaded kubuntu 8.0.4.1 iso and mounted it to a 8gb compact flash memory card using Unetbootin. I booted from the card reader and got inside kubuntu and everything seemed fine expect the wireless was not working. I checked it should be working in 8.10 beta so I downloaded it and repeated maneuver. This time I get into boot menu where you can choose default and oem install and so on. But after I try to continue it freezes to the next screen which says "loading: \ubukern..." if I remember right. I tried it several times and now even the 8.0.4.1 freezes at the same spot.
So does anyone know what might cause this? I find it kind of strange as it worked at the first try.

That is a puzzler. When you boot from your Kubuntu drive, is there an option in the boot menu to check media? Maybe there's something wrong with your CF card?

There was an the check in 8.0.4.1 but not in 8.10. I think I even I tried and it freezed at the same point but the file was vmlinuz if I remember it right. But after that I got in. I guess there could be something wrong with the card or the reader.
