    EDIT: Solved it.

I've tried to follow the instructions given here but when I give the command "make" it just say that makefile not found. And in the that directory there's only a README with the following info:

"You most likely downloaded this tarball since you are looking for a version
of MadWifi which supports the AR5007 chipset family, which is for example
    used in the EeePC.

However, since you've downloaded this tarball, you've followed outdated
instructions. The code that this tarball once contained is now obsolete.
Please follow these instructions to enable your AR5007-based WLAN device:
    http://madwifi.org/ticket/1192

If you have any questions about it, please contact our regular support
    channels:
    http://madwifi.org/wiki/Support

    Thanks."

What might I be doing wrong?I tried to follow the instructions behind the link given in the README but to no avail.

    Thanks in advance.

the chipset was added to the HAL last night or today. The URL has changed to
    http://snapshots.madwifi.org/madwifi-ha ... ent.tar.gz

Please note: This is a dynamic system link!! this means the directory will change each time a new snapshot is added. As of a few minutes ago, the directory it extracts to is /madwifi-hal-0.10.5.6-r3816-20080742/

I've updated the directions for installing madwifi in Kubuntu at http://dawhoo.com/blog/how-to-install-k ... spire-one/

These directions are for Kubuntu, but should work for Ubuntu as well.
