Power Options will not control Standby or Hibernate

    I have the Acer Aspire One with XP and service pack 3 with all the latest updates. My power options will not allow it to hibernate or stand-by when I select them with a time to comply. Any suggestions? I have tried that aclt or whatever thing everyone talks about. I download it and run it but I gave up, I never saw anything change or present itself differently. I would be grateful just to know why in the default power options this machine just won't behave and stand-by or hibernate. Thanks! jack :confused:
