Please can anyone help me with the set up for my AAO.
I am having great difficulty setting up the network connection and have tried several ways.

Now I have deleted the settings for my 3com router & talktalk isp and would like info on how to start again from the beginning.

Not being a computer geek, I would like plain English and straightforward instructions.

Any help would be most greatly appreciated.

    Many thanks in advance

    Heather

First question: is this Linux or Windows?

OK: so do you have the network icon in your tray? And what happens if you:

    1. Hover the mouse over it
    2. Left click it

Are we talking wireless connection here - and if so what sort of security do you have in place on your router (eg, WEP, WPA, MAC filtering)?

Oh, and have you run all the available Live Updates?

The network icon is showing as disconnected and I have WEP security.

Due to not being able to connect to the web, I am unable to run any updates.

    OK, thanks.

Now what do you see if you left-click the network manager icon? I get a list of available wireless networks; does yours appear?

(For Live Updates, can you connect to your router with a cable and run them that way? It would at least eliminate any problems which might have been mended by updates!).
