Hi to all! this ia my first post so please be gentle with me! As stated above Pirut won't start. I've enabled the right click menu to
access add and remove programs, entered my password which I know is correct and waited - nothing. I have dabbled with Linux before and can use the terminal (albeit by copying & pasting) so all suggestions are welcome. Regards - Mike

Try running it from a terminal to see what error messages (if any) are displayed:

    sudo pirut

    Cheers.

Thanks for your reply rbil. I tried your suggrstion and got the following:
"Unable to import modules. Maybe you're not running under X?"
Unfortunately this means nothing to me. Perhaps it means something to you?
    Regards
    Mike

I finally solved the problem by doing a search for Pirut on all forums and finding an answer. I had previously installed Chromium by following the instructions on www.macles.blogspot.com, which apparently installed an incompatible library of pango(?!). I followed the instructions in the post I found and Pirut is now available.
    Regards
    Mike
