TME mod just done.... was easy and it run flawlessy also without resoldering the resistor and closing the other r 122.
I can go to 600Mhz with original pll setting at 0.900v. Temperature remain under 50 celsius degrees...but I think we would need others solution to achieve more battery time. I think that we should try to undervolt of 0.2 at 600mhz but crystalcpuid show strange values and I don't think it's safe to joke with it. Any solutions?
I think that Atom processor could run at lower vcore considering that my PentiumM 1.80ghz run at 0.700v at 600Mhz..
And what about an undervoltage of the chipset? And an extrem underclock of the GME under the 166Mhz of GMA booster?

    Bye

my aspireone is running at exceptionally hi temp even without overclocking (81degc)

is that a possibility that i've shorted R124?

I have the same problem... Done the mod but my pc crash when i try to do something after i have changed the frequency. No matter how small the change is. I too uses windows 7 if that can do a difference.
I do not have problems with overheating, but i now get frequent blue screens even when i have not overclocked. Does somebody know the size of the resistor ? I need a new one so that i can fix it. I think its smd 0402, but not sure.

I will confirm that SetFSB on Aspire one DOES in fact work on Windows 7. Proof:

    http://i127.photobucket.com/albums/p139 ... SetFSB.png

I could not un solder the R124 from the board, I may just not have enough patience, so i cut it off the board with an exacto knife. I accidently dug into the board a bit but it didnt matter. Drew a line with a pencil in R122 and now im overclocked. I can only get to 1.830 Ghz however, any more and the laptop crashes. However, it is unbelievable how much more awesome this thing is at 1.83 Ghz, its not that the FPS is so much higher in games, its that the Minimum FPS in games is up a good bit, which makes it look so much more smooth =]

I do not know how you guys are getting to 2.0 Ghz. The RAM i have is 667 Kingston RAM, which is a great brand. I will, however, remove it tonight and see what FSB i can get to, and post my results in the morning.

    Thanks for the guide,
    Richard

Ok, but you have an different chip. I (we?) have SLG8SP513V...
How much resistance is it over R124 with the resistor removed ? I know it sounds like a stupid question, but i am 99% sure it is not shorted but i still measure 650ohm resistance. Should be no connection ?

Oh ok sorry, didnt know yall had a different PLL. Im not very good with other electrical things [otherwise i would have just unsoldered the resistor, but im better at weilding an exacto knife, lol] so i cant help you much with the resistence.

Im still amazed that Kingston RAM isnt a good overclocker. I still have yet to take it out though, but my buddy had problems overclocking with his Kinston too on his Core 2 Quad rig..... Im not sure whats up there.

you guys probably overclocked the PCI bus as well :S
    Try overclocking the FSB itself.

changing that register mali mentioned in the first post shouldnt overclock the PCI bus.

As one of those with problems getting this to work i hope we can find the cause of this.

We know now that it does not have anything to do with OS.

If we try to get some people to post this information to help identifying the problem:

    Model: A110 or A150
    PLL: SLG8SP513V or ICS9LPRS365
SetFSB Release: 2.2.130.96 or other ?
What did you do with R122: Soldering the resistor on, Pencil or nothing ?
Result: xxxxMhz, if no overclock what did happen ?

    I can go first:

    A150
    SLG8SP513V
    2.2.130.96
    Pencil mod
Can modify registers, witch i could not do before. Instant freeze if try to set new cpu speed.

    A150
    SLG8SP513V
    2.2.130.96
desoldered R124, and soldered R122 (without the resistor)
can modify registers too, but its just freeze afterwards

I have almost successfully accomplished this mod and I am very thankful for the information here. My configuration is
    A110
    bios 3305
    SLG8SP513V
2.2 124 91 (I thought that I have to use older versions because that's what mali has probably used ...)
    "pencil" mod
Running at 177.4 meaning 2128mhz right now - yes I am writing this from my aspire one running cpuz and prime95 for 10 mins with no error so far...
The problem is that in most of the cases it just restarts after applying new value... but sometimes it happens and then I can slide it to run at more than 2100... There doesn't seem to be any logical explanation to me - it's just random... and after every restart the system starts underclocked at 90(i dont rememeber how much exactly)... If anybody has an idea why it overclocks just when it wants, I would be thankful.

Please can somebody post a picture of the mod or a link to a picture. I mean a picture of the resistor (r124) to remove.

    Thnx

for some reason I just cant grasp this part, if I select register 14 and change bit 7 to 1 then it changes the register to 16, im pretty sure im not doing it right so I need some help.

Select register 14 and set bit 7 to 1(selects software overclocking).
    bit 6:2 select bus speed
    00001 default 133.3MHz
    01001 137.3MHz
    10001 140.0MHz
    11001 144.0MHz
(166MHz will freeze, because the RAM timings will stay at default for 133MHz bus, I didn't try 100MHz, cause I want to OVERclock ;) )
