    Hi,

A customer left me with their old Toshiba Satellite P775-S7365 with a broken screen.

I recently have looked at it to see if it would be worth my time and money (as an exercise) to repair it.
What also influenced me is the fact that it has a second hard drive bay. I thought it would be kind of neat
to use it in a build.

Anyhow, when using the VGA connector to view Windows 10 I find that the sound doesn't work ether.
Also, the keyboard if it works at all it types very slow.

Does anyone know about these issues with this laptop and what might be causing them?

The sound issue seems to be a common issue with Toshiba (certainly this model).
I found this YouTube video addressing it here:

He says that the materials used in it dry out and crumble. However, I do not see any issues with it deteriorating.
And when I plugged a different pair into it there still is no sound.

So, not sure what the issue is, maybe the sound chip?

    The keyboard issue?

There are no broken hinges so not sure if it was dropped or not.

Anyhow, anyone know about this model and issues with it and possible solutions?

    Thanks,

    John
