    Hi,

i tried to use the recovery CDs for reinstallation of XP on my AOA110 after installing the supertalent 32gb ssd. System boots from first revocery CD but freezes while copying the image files from the second CD.
With DOS-boot i can see that the recovery tool has created only 7GB partition on the 32gb ssd.

    Any suggestions with this problem???

    in hope

    Yann

Try creating a 7gb and a 25 gb partition. Maybe it works...

Sounds like it is a direct image, so it will install on a partition the size of the original ssd. Why it's freezing, I don't know. You may end up needing to get a standard XP disc and install manually.

    Re: OS Repair Query

    Greetings:

Trying to help a friend in another city with an Acer 5000 series notebook. Machine does not make it to the desktop after a windows update. Want to attempt an OS repair not reinstall. The BIOS has been set to boot to CD and they have tried the recovery disc and the sytem disc only to be met with the Acer error message when no disc was in the machine.

Seeking guidance on how to get to the OS repair option.
