I have tried emptying my trash bin on my macbook pro operating OSX Yosemite but the apps won't empty on the trash bin.
    Help please.

There might be two possible problems. First, there might be a file that is locked in the trash can and you might need to unlock that file. Second, there might be files with special characters in the trash, and you will have to remove those files to see if that is the issue.

An advanced way of emptying the trash is as follows:
    1. Launch Terminal App
    (Search in Spotlight)
    2. Type the following "sudo rm -rf ~/.Trash/*"
    (without quotes)
    3. You may be prompted to enter your login password.

I am a new MacBook user and I am always looking to learn more to avoid frustrations of trying to figure out. So far, I haven't have any issue yet since the MacBook is only 3 months old, but down the line, I am expecting to run into problems as with any other devices. Thank you for the tip!
