    Hi,

I wan't to get an Aspire One 150L. As known, it has an built-in diyplay with 1024x600 pixels. In a test of a german magazin I read, that the 110L can only display this 1024x600 on external monitors. This would be very bad, because I wan't to use the computer mainly on desktop with separate keyboard, mouse and monitor. So my question is: Is 1024x600 the maximum resolution for monitors on the VGA-port too with the 150L? Or is this limitation fixed with the 150L?

Thanks in advance for any help,

The linux software is configures so you can only clone the output on an external monitor, so the resolution is the same as the main screen: 1024x600. You can hack this by messing around by the config files, but it does not seem to be an easy workaround.

Apparently the XP version offers the standard dual display options, with a range of resolutions available.

I see. So the limitation to 1024x600 comes by linux-configuration. If I would install XP on the 150L (which is what I wan't to do), I could use nearly any resolution on external monitors (next limitation comes by intel-chipset). Correct?

It is possible to run resolutions far higher than 1024 x 768.
I have my external 24" screen running at 1680 x 1050, and the One screen at 1024 x 600. Both at the same time, in dual screen mode - not mirrored.

    Hi everyone,

I was reading four threads regarding external VGA output. I have referred this issue with people at Linpus, it seems that Acer has classified this issue as non-critical, which is why it's not resolved until now. And, they would probably consider it as an immediate concern if more people would complaint about it.

I hooked it up to my 24" monitor and it can run in 1024*600 and 1920*1200 in dual screen mode. In Vista Aero will be disabled with this resolution though.
