    Hey guys,

nice website and forum! I purchased the One last week after a lot of months of wanting it and waiting. I got the linux version as I want to learn a bit how to use it. So I was playing a bit with it and I've managed to make the battery system icon not appear ever, and the power center is not opening.

I've searched the issue everywhere and I couldn't find another case of this happening which is quite strange!

Does anyone have a clue how this can be solved?

BTW I didn't really do that much with the system to have destroyed something :p, installed OpenOffice 3, tried to install Acer's VLC but something went wrong there as well :p and some games. kpowersave is installed on the system.

If anyone has any suggestions or ideas how to fix this I would be grateful!

    Thanks!

    :)
Sorry just re-read and spotted the kpowersave bit. Assuming you have installed as in the link above, try just this line to force the installation again.
    Code:
    sudo rpm -U --force kpowersave*
Theres also a bit on page 3 about re-activating the power centre.

    Hello,
I have the same problem -- about a week ago I noticed that the power center icon and battery meter on my machine are not working anymore. Grrr.
I have installed VLC and Open Office 3 recently, but I am not sure which one caused the problem. Any thoughts on this one?
Do I actually have to install kpowersave to fix this issue? I would like to keep things simple and get the old battery meter/icon up and working again if possible...
    Thank you for any advice!

The full version of kpowersave is far more configurable and is very simple to install. When properly configured it saves precious battery power and is far superior to the hacked up version supplied on the A1. 5 lines of code.... problem solved...Give it a go...

Hi, I have tried to install kpowersave but it looks like there are a few missing dependencies.
Steps 1 and 2 worked fine, but step 3 does not. Er... what do I do? Would these dependencies be in the main repository?
    libDCOP.so.4
    libkdecore.so.4
    libkdeui.so.4
    libkio.so.4

Thank you for any advice -- and sorry for my ignorance!
