Laptop Booting problem

    Hi can you guys help me. My laptop is a Toshiba Satellite u940. The laptop's fan is working, the power led is fine but it takes about 5 to 10mins before it boots on bios. It says RTC battery is out. Also it only boots if the battery is not plugged in and I have a damaged screen lcd it shows horizontal and vertical lines.

    Im just wondering if the lcd lines and battery has something to do with it. Also, if I replace the cmos battery will this work fine?
