As a newbie to Linux I'd really appreciate if someone could make a list of commonly used Keyboard shortcuts and commands.
Eg. while playing one of the preloaded games I could have used a force quit function when it stopped responding.

    There are numerous key combinations.
Killing an application needs a bit of prep' work first.

    Take a look here...

Once it is done, ctrl + alt + esc will bring up a skull and cross bones cursor, just point at the application that you want to kill and left click it.

alt + f2 = run program dialogue box.
ctrl + alt + del = system monitor.
