I have an 80GB Classic iPod that connects fine to any other computer I use it with, but does not connect to my Aspire One when plugged in. I originally installed iTunes on my AAO, and the iPod worked fine then, but after realizing that it runs multiple extraneous services in the background that can't be properly removed I uninstalled iTunes. Now my AAO doesn't recognize my iPod, even as an external USB drive.

Any ideas on how to remedy this? I have SharePod on my iPod (to transfer music from it to other devices) and Floola on my AAO, but if the iPod itself isn't recognized, both are moot.

/edit: Windows XP/120GB AAO model, by the way.

Can you not just plug it in and head over to install new hardware? and select the ipod?
