    Hello everyone,

I have upgraded my wireless cardIntel 4965AGN after having some problems with the old Atheros card, I installed the card and the Intel PROset wireless connection utility. Its telling me im connected and i have run all the test and all looks correct, but its still not allowing me to connect to the internet. I have spent the last 4 hours pulling my hair out trying to find out why this is?? any help would be great. Many Thanks

If you're running under Windows XP run the following program:

Start -> Run -> Clear the box, type in "INETWIZ" without the " marks and press enter. Run thru the wizard, telling it that you're connecting via LAN (Local Area Network)

See if that makes a difference.

Hi Swarvey tried the INTELWIZ via LAN set up and still the same?

Im running windows xp home edition and its a D-150 model, the netbook wireless stopped working, so guessed it could have been the card, did the upgrade and software install which all looks fine even got the wireless bars showing green but still no connection im afraid. any more advise on this would be great. :?

This card works great in Linux too.
The only drawback is it not as powerful as the older Atheros card.

    :)

I had lots of problems with the 4965AGN as well, and I couldn't get past them.

Just a few links, so that I don't need to search for them again:

    http://www.intel.com/Assets/PDF/prodbrief/316286.pdf (product brief)
    http://www.intel.com/products/wireless/ ... erview.htm (overview HTML)
http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_ ... plications (version 13.5.0 of Intel SW)
http://shop.accessory4you.com/05-chanpi ... sp?id=2330 (the set that I was supposed to have, but I got MM1 instead)
    http://www.dealextreme.com/p/1-8-zif-ce ... card-19479 (sloa056 adapter at dealextreme)
    http://www.swd.de/products/datasheets/S ... 56_en.html (sloa056 adapter technical details)
    http://www.supertalent.com/products/ssd ... pe=Netbook (SuperTalent, 1,3" IDE ZIF)

    - it was recognized as 4965AG, NOT AGN.
    - Intel SW said that the radio was ok, but it just couldn't connect to any nearby wifi networks (I have 2, both 54Mbps, Zyxel and DLink, both using 2,4GHz range)
    - I was able to select 4965AGN from the list of Intel drivers
    - neither AG, nor AGN worked
    - device manager didn't show any problems for the device
    - original atheros card (recognized as ar5007eg, but model number on the card is AR5BXB63) works well (but it sometimes loses the connection after being online for a long time, usually after suspend the wifi-led is not lit, I'm sure everyone knows that problem).
    - it was supposed to be 4965AGN MM2, but I just noticed it's 4965AGN MM1. What's the difference?
    - all the changes I tried, didn't affect much. The diagnostics said that radio was ok, but there wasn't any networks to connect into (defining the networks was ok, I tried it without Intel SW and with it as well).
    - both of the networks were visible at the time I tried the connection, with WEP 128-bit encryption.

I have AOA150. I even updated the latest bios (3309 --> 3310), but no effect.
I tried with both original HDD having Windows XP and SuperTalent 32Gb SSD and SLOA056 adapter with Win7, and similar results on both operating systems (intel SW might have been different version, I don't remember).

    Any suggestions?
