Help, I need help with the basics.I,ve selected to boot from usb cd drive but it will not boot. What am i doing wrong.

Won't boot?
Try going into Linpus and seeing if it's detected.
If not, try it on another computer.
Mine boots fine from DVD, and I should know, I was trying to boot from different discs, and using different boot tools on discs for 3 hours today.

Thanks for the reply Rory my dvd drive was not working changed it and it booted, thanks.

So basicly,if i buy a External USB DVD drive ,i should be able to install windows xp without any kind of problem?
(like a normal install basicly??)

Yep, I bought one for £40 with my One, got home, played with Linpus, got my XP recovery Dvd out, plugged in the drive, found the exe wouldn't run in linux, restarted and it booted from the dvd and installed fine. Any External USB DVD drive should work fine.
